Parents of a seventh-grade student at Issaquah Middle School in Washington state were surprised to learn why their child failed to complete a Language Arts task, and they vented their frustrations on a Facebook page on Tuesday.
Ms. Johnson, the student’s 7th grade Language Arts instructor, assigned their child to “read and interpret a poem,” according to the student’s parents.

When asked why their child didn’t finish the task, the child explained that it made them feel awkward and that they were too afraid to finish it. Joe Limer’s poem “White Hollywood” was assigned to the class to study.
Parents of a student at Issaquah Middle School, located just outside of Seattle, took it upon themselves to read the assignment’s directions.

The student’s parents were enraged after reviewing the assignment and posted about the incident to a Facebook page. “Let’s get started. I’m trembling. I just sent an email to the principal of my 7th grader’s school. What will be your next move? This video contains graphic content “In a Facebook post, the parent expressed his feelings.
A group of parents at the school has approached the principal and is putting together a plan of action. The Post Millennial has reached out to the school and the teacher for comment, but has yet to hear back.
