Freshest reports have confirmed reasonable doubts.

“House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy seems to hold a double standard when it comes to Big Tech censorship. While Rep. McCarthy seemingly talks a good game about ending online censorship, leaked audio from a January 10th, 2021, phone call revealed he was hoping Twitter would ban some of his fellow Republican House members in the wake of the incident at the Capitol.”

“Rep. McCarthy is currently in damage control mode following the release of the audio of a phone call where he and other ranking GOP members – to include Liz Cheney – were discussing having Trump resign from office as well as Rep. McCarthy talking about other Republican House members being booted from Twitter,” they added.

“I think impeachment resolutions will pass, and it would be my recommendation you [President Trump] should resign… What he did is unacceptable. Nobody can defend that and nobody should defend it.”

Furthermore, Rep. McCarthy has publicly called for the reigning in of Big Tech and social media censorship, having said in October of 2020 that, “It is time to scrap Section 230 and start over,” and expressing similar sentiments again in June of 2021 and January of 2022.

Despite the existence of the leaked audio, Rep. McCarthy is denying that he said anything featured on the call, calling the New York Times’ reporting “totally false and wrong,” in a statement released on April 21st.

“The New York Times’ reporting on me is totally false and wrong. It comes as no surprise that the corporate media is obsessed with doing everything it can to further a liberal agenda. This promotional book tour is no different. If the reporters were interested in truth why would they ask for comment after the book was printed?

“The past year and a half have proven that our country was better off when President Trump was in the White House and rather than address the real issues facing Americans, the corporate media is more concerned with profiting from manufactured political intrigue from politically-motivated sources.”
