During the IMF Debate on the Global Economy that took place this Thursday, International Monetary Fund Director Kristalina Georgieva shared some hits that the world’s economic overlords may have screwed us all!
Moderated by CNBC anchor Sara Eisen, European Central bank President Christine Lagarde, US Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottley, and Indonesian Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati joined Georgieva for a panel discussion.

She stated that there were unintended consequences to some of the policies carried out by the world’s financial institutions.
“At that time, we did recognize that may lead to too much money in circulation, too few goods, but didn’t really quite think through the consequence in a way that upfront would have informed better what we do,” she said.

Georgieva emphasized we’re out of time regarding climate change and criticized the leaders for forgetting this problem due to the C-19 pandemic.
